Continue a Novel with AI: Import TXT or Markdown into Moziflow

Import a TXT or Markdown novel into Moziflow and continue with AI. Follow the file format, chapter preview, book settings, and next-chapter steps.

Use Create New Book → Import Book in the sidebar to import an existing novel, then ask Mozi to write the next chapter. These steps use the English interface and a two-chapter manuscript.

Before starting, choose a local workspace, sign in to an account with Pro access, and configure an available model. Import analysis and writing use that model; the Moziflow subscription doesn’t include model usage.

1. Prepare your manuscript file

Save the manuscript as .txt, .md, or .markdown. Word and PDF files need to be converted to one of these formats first.

Include at least two chapters of prose. Put each numbered chapter heading on its own line:

Chapter 1: Tomorrow's Postmark

Nora opened the parcel as the shop clock struck six.
Her father's watch was inside. The scratch in its case was still there.

Chapter 2: The Clockmaker's Lie

Her employer glanced at the watch and locked the shop door.
“Where did you get that?”

This excerpt shows the format; use your full chapter text in the file, not just a table of contents. If the text looks garbled, save it as UTF-8 before selecting it again.

2. Open Import Book

  1. Click Create New Book, beside the + icon at the bottom of the left sidebar.
  2. Choose Import Book from the menu to open the import dialog.

3. Choose your TXT or Markdown file

  1. Click Choose file at the top of the dialog.
  2. Locate and select your manuscript in the system file picker, then click Open.
  3. Wait for parsing to finish. The dialog shows the filename, 2 chapters found, book settings, and a chapter preview.

If the count doesn’t match your manuscript, check the chapter headings, edit the file, then use Choose file to select it again.

4. Fill in the book settings

After selecting the file, complete these fields:

Field What to enter
Book Language Choose the manuscript’s language; English for this example
Genre Category and Genre Choose a category, then the genre within it that best fits the manuscript
Book Title Confirm or edit the imported book’s title, such as “Tomorrow’s Postmark”
Planned Chapters Enter the final total for the book; 12 for this example
Approximate Chapter Length Choose the length you want for future chapters; this doesn’t rewrite the imported prose

With 2 imported chapters and a planned total of 12, there are 10 chapters left to write. A total of 2 won’t automatically plan further chapters.

5. Check the chapter preview

Scroll down to Chapter Preview. For this example, “Tomorrow’s Postmark” and “The Clockmaker’s Lie” should appear in order, with the matching prose excerpts below their headings.

The preview shows excerpts from the first few chapters, not the full manuscript. Use the chapters found count to check how many chapters were recognized overall.

If Import is still disabled, check the title, genre, and planned total. Also look for messages about needing at least two chapters or a chapter having no body text. Resolve those messages before submitting.

6. Click Import and wait for completion

Click Import at the bottom of the dialog. The app opens a new-book conversation, analyzes the manuscript, saves the chapters, and organizes the Creative Archive. When the import task finishes, expand the book and open chapters one and two to check the prose.

Keep the app open during analysis. The book’s title can appear in the sidebar before the task finishes.

If submission reports that no model is selected, close the dialog, choose an available model from the menu at the bottom of the conversation input, then reopen Import Book.

7. Continue with chapter three

Click the imported book title in the sidebar to open its writing conversation. Check the model selection below the input, enter your request, and click the send arrow at the bottom right:

Write chapter three. In the previous chapter, Nora’s employer recognized the watch but refused to explain. She needs to find a clue to what he’s hiding. Don’t have him confess everything. Keep the restrained style of the first two chapters, and end with her finding a repair record from the day her father disappeared.

If Mozi asks about the story direction, reply before continuing. When an execution confirmation appears, click Confirm. After writing finishes, open Chapter 3 in the sidebar to read the prose.

If the employer suddenly explains everything after refusing in chapter two, send this in the same conversation:

In chapter three, the employer explains where the watch came from, contradicting his refusal in the previous chapter. Rewrite that conversation so Nora finds the clue in the repair records instead. Keep the chapter ending.
